I just remember that I received a funny email very long time ago which is related to exams. In the email, it states that it is not the fault of student if they fail their exams because they do not have enough time to study. And here is why:
It's not the fault of student if
he/she fails because the year ONLY
has 365 days...
typical academic year for a student:
1. Sundays - 52 Sundays in a year, you know Sundays are for rest.
Days left 313.
2. Summer holidays - 50 where weather is very hot and difficult to study.
Days left 263.
3. 8 hours daily sleep - 130 days GONE.
Days left 141.
4. 1 hour for daily playing- (good for health) means 15 days.
Days left 126.
5. 2 hours daily for food & other delicacies (chewing properly & swallowing) - means 30 days.
Days left 96.
6. 1 hour for talking (man is a social animal) - means 15 days.
Days left 81.
7. Exam days - per year at least 35 days.
Days left 46.
8. Quarterly, half yearly and festival (holidays) - 40 days.
Days left 6.
9. For sickness - at least 3 days.
Days left 3.
10. Movies and functions- at least 2 days.
1 day left.
11. That 1 day is your birthday.
How can you study on that day ?!?!?!?!?!
Balance = 0
' How can a student pass ?????'
Well, I'm here to tell you that it is not true. There are time for students to study. So let's start with 0 days left.
Refer to No. 2 - summer holidays. Malaysia experience summer throughout the whole year. Therefore summer holiday is not an excuse.
0 + 50 = 50 days
Now refer to No. 3 - 8 hours of sleep. Sleep when you're dead. Then again, we still need some sleep. I feel 6 hours would be sufficient, and that would give you an extra 30 days.
50 + 30 = 80 days
Next refer to No. 6 - Talking. I feel 1 hour is not enough, but 2 hours should be sufficient. So we take off another 15 days.
80 - 15 = 65 days
Now look at No. 7 Exams. In university life, you do not have 35 days of exams. The maximum it can go up to for a year is 10 days. So that means we get an extra 25 days.
65 + 25 = 90 days
Then, you wold have to make allowances for procrastination. Which takes up about half the time you have to study. So half of 90 days would be 45 days.
90 - 45 = 45 days.
Hence, as you can see, students do have time to study. 45 days in fact, that's 1 and a half month. I know it's kind of lame for me to do this but I'm just using this to put off studying.
